This position works closely with senior leadership to assist in the day-to-day administration of employer-sponsored benefit and retirement plans, serving public and private sector employers. Work Hours and Work Schedule:

  • This position is a full-time position working Monday โ€“ Friday from 8am โ€“ 4:30pm with a half hour lunch (Time taken for lunch breaks is NOT included in hours worked.)ย  This position does not work nights or weekends.

Office Location:

  • 100 2nd Street SW, Waverly, Iowa
  • This position does not permit remote working or work-from-home.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation is a competitive hourly wage.
  • This position does provide Paid Time Off (vacation days/sick days) and paid holidays after 90 days of employment.
  • This position does provide upon employment Major Medical, Dental, Vision and elective insurance coverages which are available along with HSA, Health FSA and Dependent Care Assistance programs. Advantage Administrators currently provides an employer contribution toward the cost of the benefits that you elect equal to 10% of your compensation that is paid for each semi-monthly period.
  • You are provided with a $50,000 term life insurance policy at no cost.
  • You are immediately eligible to contribute to a company sponsored 401(k) plan. Employer matching contributions (while not guaranteed) have historically equaled 50% of an employeeโ€™s salary deferrals that do not exceed 5% of their Compensation for that pay period.

Job Summary:

You will work closely with our Welfare Benefits Operations Manager (who will be your direct supervisor), President/Compliance Attorney and CEO in administering employer sponsored qualified welfare benefits plans (such as Cafeteria flex plans, HRA ( partially self-insured medical plans and HSAs) and qualified retirement plans (such as profit sharing plans and 401(k) plans).ย  Your activities will primarily include:

  • Answering the telephone and directing customers to the correct department.
  • Monitor incoming emails and faxes and directing them to the correct department
  • Process all incoming and all outgoing mail
  • Maintain and keep the current front desk telephone voice mail and postage machine
  • Enter and process financial information into and out of QuickBooks
  • Assist the HRA (partially self-insured plans) department with outgoing emails and outgoing mail and updated employer client lists
  • Process all front desk electronic filing
  • Assist the Cafeteria Flex department with entering fee payments into Quick book
  • Assist the Pension department with incoming retirement plan financial statements and outgoing annual statements to Plan Sponsors.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Two-year degree or equivalent required: additional qualifications in business administration or related fields are advantageous.
  • Strong skills in clerical tasks and administrative assistant tasks
  • Proficient in phone etiquette and communication
  • Attentive to detail and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word. Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Proficient in standard office software and tools
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with Employee benefit programs is a plus
